Hey hey, it’s Earth Day!
And I couldn’t choose a better day to share some images of one of the most beautiful places on Earth – the Dominican Republic.
We were eager to head down to the Dominican this year – the first time we’ve taken the kids to a Club Med. Some of my fondest memories from my youth are from our vacations to Club Med. I used to love all of the activities – archery, sailing, circus trapeze, and of course, the shows.
While Rodney and I relaxed with some beach reads and Pina Coladas, we passed the activities baton to the kids who were more than happy to play in the pool and check out all of the fun sports on offer at the Mini Club.
And what a place to spend a birthday:
Paradise on land…
As well as under the sea…
That would be a jellyfish. And no, my husband wasn’t trying to touch it. He has more sense than that…He was kindly trying to swoosh it in my direction. Fortunately nobody was stung, and the barracuda didn’t take us down either.
It was a memorable trip, they really don’t get better. And to celebrate Earth Day, I’m so happy to be partnering with TOMS, a company that has done so much to support countries around the globe, including Haiti, which shares the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic.

Thanks Katy, my husband got me a GoPro Hero 3+ for my birthday, I’m in love with it. It takes really cool fisheye pics and works really well both underwater and out of the water without it’s underwater casing. I highly recommend, although it took a few hours to get it out of it’s packaging, and set up- nothing that some persistent watching of youtube videos can’t handle 😉

Great photos. That is the great thing about Earth Day is that we see photos like those. There are so many beautiful places in the world, its nice to take a day (should be every day) and realize how blessed we are to live on a planet that is so wonderful, diverse and accommodating.

I am OBSESSED with TOMS shoes! I hate buying other shoes after buying my first pair of TOMS because they are just so comfortable and practical!

Your vacation sounds amazing. I have always thought of Club Med and remember their commercials when I was a kid. I think I would love to take advantage of that kind of vacation with my kids.
Gorgeous pictures. HA – love the parrot one. When my husband and I were in Cuba, we were kayaking on the ocean and ended up in a whole field of jellyfish!! That put the idea of sharks right out of my head!

Toms are the only shoes my son could wear up until about a week ago. He has fat, wide feet, cankles, and ankle rolls. It was a nightmare trying to find shoes to fit his feet, without paying a fortune to get special-made shoes. He will forever have a pair of Toms.
My son had the biggest feet for the longest time- if it’s any consolation they finally slimmed down and he doesn’t need special shoes anymore 😉 Glad at least the TOMS fit!

after a long winter in the Northeast, as I am sure you know-your photos were very refreshing and definitely gives me something to look forward to when I take my upcoming vacation to Guatemala in June/July. I love the warmer temps (even it if is rainy season!), the fresh fruits and veggies all the time, most picked earlier that day instead of weeks before, and the healthier choices as far as food goes. Loved the pics looks like fun was had by all.
