We have news!
I’m not pregnant. But our family is experiencing a seismic shift on par with a new baby at home. Almost….
We’ve moved to the lake for the summer! Goodbye city streets, hello water, paddleboards, and jumping crickets.
While I’m excited about a lazy summer at the lake, it’s sad to leave New York. I love the city, its grit and its beauty. As a farewell, I thought I’d put together a collection of some of my favorite city moments from the past year, all seen through the hazy lens of watercolor. From last Summer, to our long-awaited Spring, a glimpse of NYC through the seasons:
The Richard Meier Buildings, West Village
Snow-covered 8th Avenue & 14th Street
Hitting the streets in baby Sorels
Peeking through the bookstore windows, Chelsea
In the shadow of Chelsea Market
Union Square Playground cherry blossoms
Cherry blossom canopy, Chelsea
Did you paint all of those!?! They are absolutely beautiful!!! Wow! I feel like I’ve been to a special art gallery tour. So wonderful!
Oh, ML, thanks so much for keeping me in check! Didn’t notice that I had two posts scheduled to post on the same day- I was writing a ton two weeks ago to give myself a little flex time for up at the lake, so pretend you didn’t see the Wheels on the Bus! And thanks so much- I wish I had that kind of talent- I made those photos using an app called Waterlogue- it’s fantastic, you should give it a go!
Well that’s just a little bit cool!
Lovely images! What a talent!
I think their brilliant and makes a change 😉
Wow, your watercolors are spectacular. Have fun at the lake.
Cool app! I have to check it out. 🙂
I love all of your photos, some of my favorite places in the city are captured. Enjoy your summer respite, NYC will be waiting for you in its beautiful autumn glory.
Thanks so much 🙂

Oh Jessica, that is fabulous news – such a great place… meanwhile these shots are super; I also like to play around in post processing, particularly with picz which don’t quite make the cut on their own. You could print and frame these for the lake house, then NY is with you every day!! YAM xx
I love those pictures! Will have to check out the app you used. And you are blessed to have two houses! Happy Summer!
These are beautiful pictures, it must be a great app, what one do you use? Great to go to the lake for the summer!!! Enjoy your days!!
Waterlogue. I will look for that! This is amazing. I love it. NYC is a dream destination of mine. Thank you for sharing these amazing watercolor photos. They are indeed pretty. #WW
Oh I love the city too!! But, the lake will be such a beautiful relaxing place to spend summer 🙂 And your photos are beautiful! Love the effects!
Simply Stunning! I especially love the colors in the fall sunset.
These are all amazing! It’s amazing how a watercolor twist can make these scenes seem surreal.
Those are totally cool! You should print those out (order prints) and gather it up in an album. Better yet, keep adding to the album with the same effect and you’ll have a personal NYC In Watercolors book! Hey, maybe you should get it published! 😉
That’s pretty cool!
wow I LOVE these watercolour photos! So beautiful!
I love your pics. through the watercolor lens. I would blow some of those up and frame them!! They are awesome.
Wow, I really thought those were paintings instead of photo manipulation – you could print them on canvas and have a gallery show! Wonderful collection.
These are fabulous! What a great idea, will check out the app!
Wow. Very cool.
What stunning effects. Briliant pictures.
Gorgeous!!!
Wow!! Need to try out that app!!!!
Enjoy the lake!!!
That’s a brilliant app. It looks so authentic. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos in such an artistic way. Enjoy your time at the lake!
Very cool pictures.
Have a wonderful summer at the lake Jess. Great photos and a great app.
Such a fun WW 🙂
Great pics! I need to go check out this app!
This sounds like a great way to spend the summer!
That is such a hard choice since NYC is so amazing during the summer. But then again, so is a quiet lake 🙂
All the watercolors are gorgeous and really capture the spirit of the city.
That is super cool! I love the watercolor effect. I used to live in NY and miss it but I also think a summer by the lake sounds wonderful.
Cheers!

Very cool photo effect! I love the shots, especially of the snowy streets ~ almost dreamy looking like from A Christmas Story. Happy WW!
very convincing!
