We’re on year 2! I thought we’d barely make it to the finish line in our 52-week challenge, but our challenge won us over. I never could have predicted how much we’d embrace eating a new food each week, but here we are.

I created the 52-week challenge as a way to encourage my kids to eat a bigger range of healthy foods. I found that I was buying the same old fruits and vegetables week after week, and I needed to shake things up. Each week, I introduce a new type of food, usually fruit and vegetables so that my kids have a chance to taste their pure, clean flavors. They explore it, using all five senses, and tell me what they see, hear, smell, touch, and taste. We call it “mystery food”, it’s become favorite game; they love the sense of adventure and it’s been a sneaky way to get them to taste things they might have otherwise refused.
